Details of Callaway FT-iQ Driver
The Callaway FT-iQ Driver features the best combination of distance and accuracy in a driver Callaway Golf has ever made. The refined head shape has a sleek and stealthy look while raising the MOI (moment of inertia) for unprecedented accuracy off the tee, while Hyperbolic Face Technology significantly raises ball speeds across the entire face for increased distance.
Features of Callaway FT-iQ Driver:
Hyperbolic Face Technology: Hyperbolic shaping is the cutting edge of driver face design - mathematics and engineering combine to create Callaway’s highest ever ball speeds across the entire face.
Fusion Technology: Callaway FT-iQ Driver creates maximum perimeter weighting and more discretionary weight by combining a carbon composite body with the titanium face cup, allowing for precise positioning of the CG (center of gravity) to generate the straightest drives possible Improved Complete Inertial Design: Positions discretionary weight deeper and to the extreme corners, raising the MOI for unparalleled forgiveness on shots hit anywhere on the face.
Visible External Weighting: Strategically placed weighting in the rear corners helps create the straightest drives possible with ideal ball-flight trajectories to maximize distance
Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Shaft Exclusive to the Callaway FT-iQ Drivers: This ultra premium shaft has been designed with Modulus Differential Technology (MDT) for tour-level high launch, low spin performance.

This Callaway FT-iQ is an awesome driver. I can't hit a bad shot with it. Straight as an arrow every time it can’t hit as far cause it is designed to keep you shot straight. But great club all the same.
If your a professional, an intermediate player, or even a beginner, this FT-iQ Driver is a club for everyone. Club was fine, Unbelievably forgiving.
If you are a player that struggles from slicing, it is definitely worth a shot at a demo day or store. It will be available in both regular (we tested) and tour. From what we can gather the difference is slight weighting and the regular model is 1* closed while the tour is neutral.
The marginal performance of the stock shaft in the FT-i and been replaced with exceptional performance in the new stock shaft in the FT-IQ. It is draw biased and slice prohibitive. Few golfers will be able to work this club, but many golfers will find more fairways than ever before.
WOW I have never hit any driver as far or as straight, that includes the FTi & The R9 - I couldnt slice it no matter how hard I tried - this has to be the BEST driver on the market for a high handicaper like me!
I recently took delivery of a Callaway FTIQ driver. It was a 10 degree with a stiff Fubuki shaft. Good look
Have used it a couple of rounds and tested on the range a few times and my conclusions are as follow: That is definitely the straightest driver I put my hands on and one of the longest as well; but definitely it is more straighter than longer. Have been able but one exception to keep the ball in play on my drives on the korean courses within OB limits (that says something to who has played in South Korea where these are very narrowly set) for the few rounds I used it and because of that, it gave me enough confidence to really go for it and was then able to get very long straigt drives. The sound also is very satisfying unlike the hollow, tinny sound I was used with the other FT's I owned. Not convinced by the shaft which I find very weak, have ordered since a 9.5 tour version with a Fuboki shaft and cannot wait to get it. Being so straight I do not believe such a driver suits a low handicap player but more a mid-high handicapper, but again I tried the 10 deg version which is 1 deg toed in, the tour version might (and will probably) suit a low handicapper.
Even with a bad shot I still get good distance from my Callaway FT-iQ Driver and a straight drive with this club moreso than any other I have tried. Because I get good results even with my bad shots it gives confidence so therefore end up with fewer poor shots. Only bad point is the cost
The Callaway is a sits well behind the ball and has a very satisfying sound at impact. The ball jst goes straight or maybe a slight draw when you swing it harder. I have hit this around 600 times now between the range and the course so i can honestly say this is the best i have ever used. Great work Callaway. When are you bringing out the 3,5 woods!
Unfortuantely all I can say about the club is that it feels good in my hands. We have had too much snow in New Jersey since I got the club to take it out and try it, so I swing it in my den (without hitting the ceiling). The club looks and feels good, I am sure I will be happy with it when I get it on the course.
